Write It Out
Some days, in spite of your best intentions, meditations, and affirmations, you wake up cranky.
You get irked for no particular reason, and nothing seems to be right.
You feel certain YOU are the only one who knows the truth, and YOU are the only one who is right.
Sound familiar? If you are human, I bet you can relate.
If I’m honest, I have to admit I know the scenario above inside out.
It took me a little time to figure out why I slipped into crankiness without warning. But now that I’ve gotten clear, I want to share my solution with you.
Crankiness is my mind’s way of letting me know I’m way off center.
When I’m unaligned with my truth, the outside world seems to be the only real thing. This causes my insides to scream for attention, yet, inside is the last place I look for a solution.
My husband helps me get back to center; he is severely affected by my mood swings. Thank God he loves me and stands up to give me an earful when I need it.
I believe the best way to find your way out of the crankiness maze and get clear about what’s going on behind the scenes of your consciousness is to write it out.
Here’s how it works for me:
Grab some paper and your favorite pen.
Begin writing without stopping. Don’t even pause to re-read what you wrote.
Move your hand across the page, and unload all the crap that’s keeping your cranky.
Forget to think; just write.
It doesn’t matter that what you write is not fit for publication. Write it anyway.
Write to unlock your inner doors, to open your inner eyes, to clear the debris that’s blocking your clarity and flow.
If you write long enough, like magic, you will realize you feel better; your mood will stabilize, and you find your center, again.
Do you use writing to realign yourself when you get knocked off kilter?
I recommend you try it and tell me how it works for you.
