Need a Little Magic for the New Year? Create a Vision Board
The end of 2012 is just days away, which means it’s for one of my favorite traditions here at my house: Vision Boards.
I make Vision Boards a end-of-the-year tradition because the whole process of creating one is really fun and uplifting.
My Vision Board serves as a constant reminder for the unconscious mind about my new goals, intentions, dreams and aspirations.
Every December my husband and I start gathering old journals, papers, magazines – any publication with pretty pictures in it. Then, we buy a big poster board. You can also use a white sheet of paper, as well. But make sure it’s big enough to hold all of your intentions for the new year.
On New Year’s Eve, we light a fire, open a bottle of wine and take all our journals and papers and cut out the pictures we love. Just before we begin, we talk about what the new year is about for us and what we want to focus on. Then, we take the scissors and cut out pictures and words that speak to us.
Remember, this is meant to be fun so keep it light and gentle.
We each make a pile our pictures and words of pictures. Then, my husband takes my pile and I take his, and we arrange each other’s selections on the board.
And voila! We create a constant reminder of our dreams and wishes for the coming year. Vision Boards works really well. I’m often surprised when something shows up in our lives we dreamed about a few month back.
Have you ever created a Vision Board to guide you as you embark on a new year? Why not give it a try this year and watch the magic of setting intentions unfold?
